Inspired by the land, legends and mysteries of Mexico, Los Siete Misterios was established in 2010 with only one objective in mind: to produce mezcals indicative of this great country’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

Orders placed before 1pm each day Monday – Friday will be despatched the same day as long as the stock is in immediate availability. For some items, we may need to get stock from our stores which could delay despatch by 1 day (2 days in some situations)

Items in stock will be despatched on the same day and delivered via courier. This will usually be delivered on the following working day but please allow one extra day if this is not possible. Deliveries to Scotland & non UK mainland will usually be delivered in 2-3 working days.

We charge a flat fee of £6.90 for delivery if your order is under 20kg and £10 inc-VAT if the order is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £100 (inc VAT).

We aim to ship items within the same working day but always within 2 working days, subject to the order being placed before 1pm and subject to the availability of stock. *If stock is not available at our warehouse and needs to come back from one of our stores before we ship to you, your order may take up to 5 working days to be shipped – whether that is to your delivery address or to one of our stores.

We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition.
You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

Excludes perishable or personalised products or those products that have been specified as non-returnable.

If you need to cancel an order you have just placed, you can do so by calling our customer service team on 020 8951 9840 and provide your order confirmation number and name.
If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us.

Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.

Description

Founded by brothers, Julio and Eduardo Mestre, the production is centred in the district of Sola de Vega in the Sierra Sur Region of the State of Oaxaca and Santiago Matatlan, Tlacolula, in the central Oaxacan valley. The brothers first got into Mezcal production when on their way to Puerto Escondido, where they discovered exceptional Mezcal whilst passing through Sola de Vega.

Los Siete Misterios uses only 100% natural agave sugars that come from ripe plants and traditional production techniques to produce their mezcals. This includes cooking in underground ovens, manual grinding using wooden mallets, natural fermentation with no chemical agents added, and a double distillation in locally, hand-made clay pots. Artisanal and limited production, preserve the whole spirit, heritage and tradition of the Mezcal.

There are 20 families directly involved in the production process of Los Siete Misterios (7 Mysteries), and each family has about 4-5 family members.Sola de Vega has always been known as the birthplace of La Chilena, which is a type of regional music, and for its mezcal Tobalá, for which many travel from the capital and other towns.

For many, Tobalá is the jewel in the crown, not only for its magnificent physical beauty resembling the bud of a rose, but for the complicated method of reproduction only by seed since it doesn’t have “hijuelos” and finally for the complicated harvest that Maestros Mezcaleros go through since it grows up in very remote location.

Tasting Notes: Potatorum clear, bright with silver shades. Delicate notes of dark chocolate, tar, prunes and cooked agave, delicate tones and smoked chipotle chile It leaves a sweet finish. It is suggested to leave in the glass for a few minutes to develop their best aromatic qualities.
