Brandy de Jerez

Brandy de Jerez

Brandy de Jerez is a type of brandy that originates from the Jerez region in Spain. It is made from wine that has been distilled and aged in oak barrels for a minimum of three years. This ageing process gives Brandy de Jerez its distinct amber colour and smooth flavour. The history of Brandy de Jerez dates back to the 18th century when the region was under British rule. During this time, the British soldiers stationed in Jerez were introduced to the local wine and loved it so much that they started to bring it back to England. But because of the high import taxes, they decided to distil the wine instead. Eventually, the soldiers taught the locals how to distil the wine and the Brandy de Jerez industry was born. Today, Brandy de Jerez is still made using traditional methods and is enjoyed all over the world.
