Syrah or Shiraz wines
Syrah and Shiraz are two names for the same grape variety, which is a dark-skinned grape used to make red wines. The grape is known for producing full-bodied wines with medium to high tannins, and flavours of blackberry, black cherry, and black pepper. Syrah is primarily grown in the Rhône Valley of France, while Shiraz is the name used in Australia and South Africa. The grape is also grown in many other wine-producing regions around the world. Wines made in the elegant Northern Rhône Syrah style or the bold, spicy Australian Shiraz incarnation, as well as Southern Rhône-style Grenache, blends. Shiraz is a dark-skinned grape with imparts bold strong fruit flavours.
