Bonpland liqueurs
Aimé Bonpland, a French physician and scientist, and Alexander von Humboldt, dubbed "the German Columbus," set off on a historic exploration of America in 1799. The thousands of new plant species and animal genera are due to Bonpland's notes and discoveries.
Bonpland summarised his research in literary form and went on to oversee Napoleon's imperial gardens and serve as a professor in Argentina. Aimé Bonpland is the namesake of a rum that links the greatest riches of far-off distilleries with the artistry of ancient German workmanship thanks to his thirst for fresh discoveries in both the old and the new worlds.
