Corn whiskies from the US

Bourbon and corn whiskey are different. Over 80% of maize mash is present in corn whiskey. For a whiskey to be considered whiskey instead of bourbon, the product must be aged in used or uncharred casks. Compared to whiskey, bourbon has more restrictions on barrel ageing because the distillate must age in fresh, charred oak barrels.
