Few people know that rum actually has a long and rich history. In fact, rum was even once used as a form of currency! Today, rum is most commonly associated with the Caribbean, where it is used in a variety of popular cocktails. Amber rum is another name for a gold rum. This rum has spent some time maturing in oak barrels, giving it a distinctive colour and a sweeter, richer flavour.
